Nantucket Historical Association

Nantucket Historical Association appears in the book’s acknowledgments as a research-associated institution connected with the Whaling Museum and Research Library. The reference is brief: it establishes the association’s place in the book’s research record but does not specify particular assistance, collections consulted, or activities undertaken.

Identification and mention

The acknowledgments list Nantucket Historical Association alongside the Whaling Museum and Research Library under Nantucket. The book supplies no further organizational history or description, so its precise institutional relationship to the museum and library is not detailed there.

Place in the book’s Nantucket record

The book’s index directs readers to passages describing Nantucket and its whaling history, including references to whaling from the island. This provides historical context for the acknowledgment, but the text does not attribute those discussions or any specific historical evidence to the association.
